Your agent, your knowledge: using Nexbid from Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent

Nexbid can be used from Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent: public tools without a key, bookings with an API key. How to set up the connection and why your own knowledge stays with your agent.

What this is about Many teams already work with an AI assistant: the agency with Claude in the browser, the developer with Claude Code in the terminal, the in-house team with its own agent built on internal documents. The question is rarely whether an agent helps, but where it gets its facts from and what it is allowed to do. This article shows how to plug Nexbid into such an agent as a tool. Nexbid provides an MCP server for this at https://mcp.nexbid.dev/mcp. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an agent call external tools. Your agent stays your agent: it decides when to ask Nexbid, and it keeps its own knowledge. Nexbid is one tool among several. The article is written for practitioners in agencies, for development teams and for anyone who configures their assistant deliberately. It answers four questions: What can an agent do with Nexbid without a key, and what only with an API key? How do you connect Nexbid to Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT or your own agent? What does it look like in a conversation? Where does your knowledge live, and where does Nexbid's? What Nexbid offers an agent Nexbid is open infrastructure for agentic commerce with two sides. When a request, a matching piece of content and a matching product come together, the match moment happens: the agent receives an answer with a source and, where available, a labelled product recommendation. The MCP server is in production and offers 19 tools. They fall into two groups. Without a key: search and look up Seven tools are public. They only read and change nothing. Tool What it does nexbid_search Searches products, recipes and services from Swiss and European publishers; every result carries the canonical source URL. Filters for intent, budget, country, category and brand, up to 50 results. nexbid_product Details for an offer from the search: price, availability, description, purchase link. nexbid_categories Available categories with counts, optionally by country. list_products, get_product The same functions under the names of the AdCP vocabulary. list_inventory Publisher ad slots with pricing model, floor price, capacity and countries. get_inventory_item Details for one slot, including rules and allow and block lists. For most everyday questions this is enough: "What should I cook for six people?", "Which products go with it?", "Which ad slots exist around food …
